We’re trying all the new dishes at the Tokyo Summer Olympics food booths at Universal Studios Florida’s Music Plaza, and we couldn’t skip dessert!

The desserts are available at the same booths that serve the sushi, gyoza dumplings, and takoyaki puffs. You can find the tents at the edge of the plaza, opposite the stage.

Mini Cheesecake – $5.49
Fluffy yuzu lemon Japanese soufflé cheesecake

The red Olympic rings are a fun way to jazz up an otherwise plain-looking cheesecake (even if we photographed it upside-down!)

It’s important to note that this is a soufflé cheesecake because it does not have the texture of a standard cheesecake. It’s light and fluffy. The Yuzu lemon flavor was light and mild. It was okay, but there are more interesting flavor profiles in other dessert options.
Mochi Sampler – $4.49
A mix of traditional red bean mochi, chocolate ice cream, and matcha ice cream mochi

Unfortunately, with two of the mochi being ice-cream-based, they did not hold up in the Orlando heat (even in the evening). You’ll want to move quickly or take these indoors.

The mochi were all delicious. The standard red bean was good, but the two ice cream mochi were fantastic. The chocolate was our favorite, but the matcha was a close second. We’d order these again.
Overall, the mochi sampler is the superior dessert offering and we definitely recommend it.
