With COVID restrictions reduced and capacity increased, more restaurants are opening up across Disneyland Resort. We’re glad to have more options available, and we stopped into Wine Country Trattoria for lunch today at Disney California Adventure.
Hand sanitizer stations are still available, but physical distancing has been eliminated.
The host stand still has plexiglass in place.
Like most restaurants around Disneyland Resort, Wine Country Trattoria is primarily using a QR code menu. However, paper menus are available upon request.
Things indoors are back to pre-pandemic operations for the most part.
Caprese Salad – $9
Tomatoes, Basil, and Mozzarella drizzled with Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar
The Caprese Salad was a great light appetizer. Everything was very fresh, the tomatoes were juicy, and the mozzarella was smooth. The greens added a nice texture contrast. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar pulled the dish together very well.
If you want something fresh that’s light on your stomach, we recommend the Caprese Salad.
Spaghetti Bolognese with Meatballs – $25
a rich Ragù of Beef, Italian Sausage, Tomatoes, Seasonings, and Meatballs
This is not your average (below-average) theme park pasta. The Spaghetti Bolognese was a big improvement on the standard fare. The pasta is simple spaghetti, but it’s cooked well. The sauce is sweet, with Italian sausage and beef mixed in for a nice texture.
The meatballs are huge and, while not the best meatball we’ve had, they still held up to the rest of the dish.
The Spaghetti Bolognese was good but not groundbreaking. It didn’t offer anything new or exemplary. If you want comfort food or a classic meal, it’s a good choice. However, considering the price point, we’d choose something else next time.
Wine Country Tiramisù – $8
Traditional Italian Tiramisù with Chocolate Sauce
This tiramisù is a classic light sponge cake while still managing to offer a dense, rich flavor palette. The strongest flavor is the coffee, but the Ghirardelli chocolate was amazing. It offered a rich, sweet aftertaste that stays with you.
The single strawberry seems simple, but it cuts the richness of the tiramisù nicely. The cake is filled with mascarpone cheese and is very moist.
We recommend the tiramisù. It offers a light dessert with rich flavors, which was perfect after a heavy pasta dish.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Wine Country Trattoria and recommend checking it out the next time you visit Disney California Adventure.
