D23 to Release Four Gold Member-Exclusive Pin Sets Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World

We’re just months away from Walt Disney World’s fiftieth anniversary, and the anticipation is spreading. D23 has announced they’re getting in on the fun with four pin sets commemorating the characters that have enthralled guests for decades.

The four sets, exclusive to D23 Gold Members, compliment the “Florida’s Fab Five” collection found in this year’s Gold Member Collector Set. The sets will be released monthly, running from August through November. The first set, designed by Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily, is dubbed the “Most Magical Kingdom” set and honors characters from attractions that opened during the 1970s.

This set includes Maestro Mickey Mouse from Mickey Mouse Revue, a Red Demon from Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, the Peg Leg Parrot from Pirates of the Caribbean, Bubbles from Country Bear Jamboree, and the Sea Serpent from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Each pin is made with “vintage-inspired” soft enamel to capture that retro look.

The set, which is in a limited edition of 2,500, will be available on shopDisney for $49.99 beginning at 10 a.m. ET (7 a.m. PT) on Monday, August 2. Gold Members must be signed into shopDisney using the email address tied to their membership to purchase them. Sets are limited to one per member. And be sure to read the fall issue of “Disney twenty-three” magazine for a look at the other three sets in the collection!
