As part of the many ongoing updates Walt Disney World is receiving to prepare for the 50th anniversary celebration, the iconic “Partners” statue in front of Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom is getting shined up for the occasion.

The statue was previously a very dark bronze, and the process for refurbishing requires stripping the metal many times to remove the excess oxidation buildup before reapplying patina.

In its current state, the duo are slightly sandy in color through this first stripping process.

A sign next to the statue reviews the current process the statue requires for its routine care.

Rest assured we will be keeping all, er – eyes…on this process while it takes place.
