PHOTOS: Tribal Mask Removed from Adventureland Sign as Cultural Sensitivity Changes Continue at Magic Kingdom

Refurbishment has begun on the Adventureland sign in Magic Kingdom as part of Disney’s ongoing process of removing culturally insensitive elements from the parks.

A headdress has been removed from the back right pole of the sign.

The totem top of the pole has also been removed, leaving it plain for now.

There have been no other major changes so far.

Assuming this refurbishment is similar to that of Jungle Cruise, the spears and skulls will possibly be removed.

The feathery headdress on the top right is what has been removed.

Why even call it Adventureland? Adventure is offensive.

I can’t see the change. It must be so subtle that the public won’t notice the change. We did not notice the Jungle Cruise sign change.

I was about to say the same thing. People are wanting cultural sensitivity and in the process are erasing representation of the culture entirely.

I dont understand. How are masks, spears, and skulls culturally insensitive? They are historically themed. Are they going to change the enchanted tiki room to just the room because enchanted and tiki offend someone???? How far does this madness have to go?

It is not offensive it is a part of Walt Disney you have ruined his legacy put the tribal mask back now or face Walt Elias Disney in heaven for it is his fucking legacy fix it now or you will be removed for this non offensive propaganda of Disney”s own legacy he has put up a park to be his legacy and animated videos not live action
