To look its best ahead of the 50th anniversary of the Magic Kingdom, Be Our Guest restaurant in Fantasyland is currently undergoing a refurbishment. Last weekend, we saw crews pressure washing the castle atop the mountain in preparation for repainting. Scaffolding has taken over the façade of the rocks as further repainting brings vibrant life back to the sun-faded formations.
With a closer look at the castle, we can see that last week’s pressure washing has removed not only settled dirt but paint as well. Pieces of the white construction material can be seen peeking through where the paint was removed near the window on the left of the turret and down where the corbel meets the main structure. These will be repainted with the rest of the castle later in the refurbishment process.
The scaffolding occupies a large part of the mountain left of the entrance.
Here where the waterfall flows from the mountain, yellow rock can still be seen where the water fell into the stream below.
A sign out along the bridge informs guests of the ongoing refurbishment work.
