Storytellers Café in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa reopened in late May with a non-buffet dinner. The Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast is now back, with both a buffet and distanced characters.
Arrival
There’s a QR code to view the menu on your phone before perusing the buffet.
Breakfast is $49 per adult and $29 per child, plus tax and gratuity.
Characters
Of course, Mickey makes the rounds at Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast.
Guests will also see Minnie, Pluto, Chip, and Dale.
Buffet
There’s no more physical distancing here. Guests are free to pick up their own plates and make their way through the buffet.
The assorted mini pastries include croissants, muffins, and danishes.
Guests can get some refreshing agua fresca and watermelon juice.
Bagged breakfast milk is available.
The egg white frittata is served with tomato, spinach, and basil.
There are plain scrambled eggs.
Egg benedict is also available.
The chilaquiles include pork belly, tomatillo salsa, queso fresco, scallions, and radishes.
The breakfast potatoes come with crumbled Impossible meat, bell peppers, onions, roasted tomatoes, and parsley leaves.
The french toast casserole has macerated berries and powdered sugar.
Standard Mickey waffles and buttermilk pancakes sprinkled with sugar are, of course, available.
For meats, there is bacon and sausage.
One of the more unique offerings is the mini smoked salmon bagel, with roasted tomato, red onion, capers, and spread.
There are trays of seasonal sliced fruits and berries, including pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, and oranges.
Cold cuts are available on a charcuterie board.
Finally is the carving station.
Reviews
The bagged agua fresca and watermelon juice are both great fresh options.
The packaging is cute and apparently more eco-friendly.
The cereal milk was fine. It tasted like normal milk with a hint of cornflakes.
The assorted fruit and pastries are all delicious. The eggs benedict was amazing. The eggs were super fluffy with great flavor.
The salmon was just okay. We felt like it could be of better quality.
The waffles, pancakes, and French toast all came out hot and were decent.
