Steakhouse 55 Permanently Closed at The Disneyland Hotel

The Disneyland Hotel will reopen on July 2, 2021, as will most of its dining locations. Disney has confirmed however that Steakhouse 55 is permanently closed.

Disney is exploring other dining options for the location but nothing has been announced. Steakhouse 55 opened on November 27, 2006, replacing Granville’s Steak House.

Guests will be able to dine at Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill, Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, and the Coffee House.

  1. I am so incredibly bummed to hear this! This was my favorite restaurant at DLR, had great ambiance and I always looked forward to meals more there than any other “higher end” restaurant like Napa Rose or Carthay Circle, etc.

Plus Steakhouse 55 came with my favorite waiter Oscar. I always made a point of requesting to dine in his section as he really made the meal. He has a wonderful personality, really know what he is doing and he could even recall details about my previous meals there even though I’m sure he has served thousands over the years.😢

  2. WHAT?! Why?! Such a classic! I hope they replace it with something of the same caliber and experience.

  3. You can stay at our hotel but you will need to bring your own dinner. Who’s in charge here any more? Heads need to roll.

  4. Let’s rephrase that to saying Disney has chosen to hire subcontractors instead of recalling their cast members.

  5. This makes me sad. I never got to eat there (I was holding out for a date night rather than dining solo) under either the Granville’s or Steakhouse 55 name. But it was always something I looked forward to doing someday (I know, my fault for not doing it when I had the chance). But I hope the eventual replacement will be good, and not outsourced.
