Work at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort continues, with landscaping, lighting, and painting moving at breakneck speed. Today we were thrilled to find one Great Ceremonial House detail survived the makeover. The water feature is intact. In fact, water was flowing today.
It is difficult to get a good view of the water feature through the columns that support the monorail station above.
A closer look reveals landscape work taking place behind the water feature.
To our delight, water is once again flowing over the rocks.
We worked our way to the other side of the porte cochère. As before, the water feature is on both sides of the Great Ceremonial House entrance walkway.
Inside the monorail station, new lanterns have been installed on columns.
The bridge connecting the monorail station to the Great Ceremonial House also has new themed lighting.
The fixture is made from bamboo.
Colorful panels now cover the platform’s entire length. Paint crews are beginning to add brown paint to the columns between the panels.
Painting continues throughout the monorail station.
Primed and unprimed surfaces await brown paint.
