It’s that time of year again. Time for Mickey pumpkins, golden fall foliage and spooky decorations across the Magic Kingdom. That’s right, it’s time for Halloween at Walt Disney World.
Or it’s time get the decorations up in August, at least. While the Summer temperatures may still be in full swing, the first sign of Fall’s imminent approach each year is the arrival of Halloween décor at the Magic Kingdom.
The most iconic Halloween decorations in the park, and likely the most photographed ones, are the Mickey pumpkin wreaths attached to the light poles on Main Street, U.S.A. Whenever these decorations go up, it’s a tipping point for the Fall season.
Beginning even before the entrance tunnel, Mickey pumpkin wreaths are hung on support beams and poles all along Main Street, U.S.A. up toward the castle.
Heading into Town Square, we can see the Autumn-colored bunting that was installed a week ago.
Garlands and other Autumn foliage decorations line the buildings where the Mickey wreaths are not affixed.
Other cute little carved pumpkins can be seen placed throughout on parapets and within windows. Many of these will be illuminated at dusk, just as a good Jack-o-Lantern should be.
The Emporium’s Autumnal garland is new, joining the existing Autumnal buntings above.
All of the Crystal Palace decorations are new today, including the custom carved pumpkin featuring the Crystal Palace logo.
And then, of course, on the backside of the entrance tunnel is one last parting shot that guests will see on their way out. A row of pumpkins spell out “see ya real soon” for departing guests on their way to other parks or leaving for the night. At dusk, these pumpkins are illuminated and make for a great send-off to the day.

Yessss!! We’re coming from Tennessee for a “Fall Preview Weekend” on August 20th and then back in October for fall/50th celebrations! So exciting!🎃🎃🎃
Along with all the Halloween decorations and merchandise, we’re bringing a $13 bag of Mars miniature chocolates when we go in a few weeks. We’ll save over $500 that it would have cost the 4 of us for the watered down Boo Bash compared to Mickey’s Not So Scary. Besides the cost, it was too late for the grandkids since it begins at 9:30 when we’ll be there.
