PHOTOS: New Maple Bacon and Cookies ‘n’ Cream Donuts at The Donut Box at EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

The Donut Box at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has two new donuts as part of the kiosk’s rotating menu of chef’s choices. Though we didn’t enjoy any of The Donut Box’s fixed or limited-time July items, we took the plunge and tried the new Maple Bacon and Cookies ‘n’ Cream flavors.


The Donut Box is in Future World near Test Track.


The new donuts are the “Chef’s Donut of the Day”.


Signs are on display at the registers for the limited-time donuts.

Maple Bacon Donut – $5


This donut has maple glaze icing and crispy candied bacon pieces on top, plus maple bacon pastry cream on the inside.


This was a decent donut. The glaze had just enough maple flavor without being too sweet.


The candied bacon on top was the star of the treat. We were worried it would be soggy, but it stayed crispy. We wish there had been more of it!


We didn’t get a bacon taste from the filling, but it had a slight maple flavor. As with our first review from the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, the donut itself wasn’t great and was a bit tough.


Altogether though, this was a nice donut.

Cookies ‘n’ Cream Donut – $5


This donut doesn’t have any filling, just vanilla icing and Oreo cookie crumble on top.


The donut itself was also tough and overdone with almost a cake consistency.


We loved the generous amount of Oreos on top.


It could have benefitted from some type of creamy filling.


Ultimately, this was nothing special.
