It’s a new month, so there’s a new limited-edition cookie available at Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs. August’s cookie of the month is The Rocky Road, made with a base of five kinds of chocolate, semi-sweet and dark chocolate chips, double-baked whole candied almonds, and a pile of marshmallows.
As Gideon’s noted on their Instagram, last month’s Key Lime Chocolate Chip Cookie is still available as part of the Flavors of Florida event through August 12.
This month’s special menu features Gideon’s character Signore Pipistrello, a vampire bat surrounded by roses.
An evening exclusive cookie is also debuting this month.
The Rocky Road Cookie – $6
This is essentially one big double chocolate cookie packed to the brim with chocolate chips. It melts fast in the Florida heat, so expect a mess.
This one is definitely for chocolate lovers because the cookie is 90% chocolate. The salted almonds and marshmallows give you a small break.
The marshmallows are soft and squishy with a slightly crispy edge that doesn’t do much for texture. Otherwise, this is a great cookie.
It’s heavy and we couldn’t finish it, but that just means we have seconds for later (if it survives the heat). We would definitely get it again.
