Tokyo Disney Resort Extends Reduced Hours & Alcohol Suspension Through September 12th Amid State of Emergency Extension

In advance of the State of Emergency being extended around Japan, the Oriental Land Company has once again announced that the reduced park hours implemented on May 17th will be extended once again through September 12th.

We are now going on nearly 120 continuous days of these restrictions as the COVID-19 situation in Japan continues to be at its worst yet. Today, Tokyo reported its second-highest number of COVID-19 cases ever — 5,381, according to the Japan Times. The ultra-infectious Delta variant is the lead cause of this surge, along with a sluggish vaccination program and an erosion of trust in the government’s largely voluntary restrictions, per NHK and Reuters.

Through September 12th, both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will operate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Additionally, ticket sales have been modified to keep park capacity at or around 5,000 guests.

Alcohol sales will continue to be suspended as well.

Nightfall Glow will not be held while hours are shortened. No other changes to entertainment have been announced.
