Baby White Rhino Born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has welcomed another baby as a white rhino calf was born this morning. Dr. Mark Penning, the Vice President of Disney’s Animals, Science, and Environment division, announced the birth on Instagram.

The rhino calf is part of an endangered population. Dr. Penning also noted that more information about the calf, born to mom Jao, won’t be known for awhile as mom and baby must have ample bonding time.

There have been many births this year at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including a Nile hippo and Masai giraffe. The new baby also joins Ranger, the calf born in October 2020.
