Back in March, we learned that the Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom would be closing for a big refurbishment ahead of the park’s 50th anniversary. By late May, construction walls surrounded the candy shop. The walls have now been taken down, revealing a freshly painted exterior for the Main Street, U.S.A. shop.
Though the walls are down, the shop has not reopened.
The two smaller side doors have been traded for one larger, central doorway. The side doors became windows.
The cream-colored building is painted with pink and blue accents.
The Main Street Confectionery is “The Home of Distinctive Treats” according to its sign.
The larger entrance and exit should help with crowding in the store, but also with wheelchair and stroller access.
Doors and windows remain blocked with black cloth so we can’t see what’s going on inside.
There is no reopening date announced for the Main Street Confectionery and we don’t know how far along interior construction is.
