Walt Disney World’s retro-inspired Vault Collection launched at Disney Springs yesterday, celebrating the resort’s 50th anniversary in a nostalgic popup shop. Today, the Main Street Cinema at Magic Kingdom reopened with a Vault Collection overlay. Take a look at some of the magical details with us as we tour the store.
The marquee now reads “The Magic of Walt Disney World” and “Now Showing 50 Years of Magic”.
In the Cinema’s lobby area are displays of Vault Collection apparel, as well as the photos that were hung previously of Orange Bird and Roy O. Disney.
The Vault Collection has many reproductions of old Walt Disney World merchandise, as well as new items inspired by classic theme park merch.
Immediately upon entering, guests will be greeted by Mr. Toad.
He’s holding the deed of Toad Hall.
Much of the Cinema is themed after the old tickets used for Walt Disney World attractions.
There are vintage photos of attractions and characters throughout the store.
Small display cases show off some of the retro merchandise.
The walls are backed with images of a vintage Magic Kingdom map.
This display case shows off how you can put buttons on your new Vault Collection baseball cap.
The framed photos are all of 70s attractions and icons. Here are elephants bathing on Jungle Cruise.
Here are images from “it’s a small world” and the Tomorrowland Rocket Jets.
The Nautilus emerges from a waterfall next to a photo of the original Skyway.
A photo of the “it’s a small world” hippo is hiding behind a valance.
Of course, there are many photos of Cinderella Castle from different angles, this one with the Tomorrowland Speedway in front of it. A larger photo of a skeleton on Pirates of the Caribbean is behind it.
The ceiling is covered with tickets.
Banners of tickets stream out from the center of the room.
The center ceiling is a collage of different tickets.
Each ticket could be used to enter Magic Kingdom or for a different set of Magic Kingdom attractions.
Old footage of Magic Kingdom is playing on the back wall, behind the registers.
