Fall is just around the corner, and Disney’s Riviera Resort is ready for the season with a new Acorn Cheesecake at Le Petit Café. This treat is only available until November 27, 2021.

Fall Acorn Cheesecake – $6.99

Caramel milk chocolate mousse, chocolate-hazelnut cheesecake, roasted white chocolate shell, and graham cracker sable-inspired acorn

The acorn shell is white chocolate, which would have been good if not for the powder food coloring. The red and yellow on the acorn might be aesthetically pleasing, but it has a very artificial, chemical taste.

The stem is a dark chocolate fondant and does not have the bad aftertaste you sometimes get with fondant. The top of the acorn is a dark and white chocolate “wood grain” with a dark chocolate ganache in between.

At the very bottom is a graham cracker crust, which adds a much-needed crunch to the treat.

The cheesecake itself is excellent. The center is a caramel milk chocolate mousse, while the outer layer is chocolate-hazelnut cheesecake. The toasted caramel of the mousse complements the richness of the cheesecake without becoming overly sweet.

Overall, this is a very nice dessert for the upcoming fall season. We just wish they would stop using the powder food coloring as the chemical taste is very off-putting. Otherwise, we recommend this cheesecake.
