Hot Cocoa Bombs were all the rage last winter, and now that fall is just around the corner, Universal Studios Florida is bringing them back. We stopped by the Halloween Horror Nights 30 Tribute Store to try the new Pumpkin and Cauldron Cocoa Bombs.
Pumpkin Spice Hot Cocoa Bomb – $10
During the holidays, the cocoa bombs were chocolate shells full of marshmallows that came with hot chocolate. This time, the chocolate shells are also full of hot cocoa mix and marshmallows, but they do not come with a beverage.
The cocoa bombs are packaged so you can take them home to enjoy (possibly because it’s still a little warm for a hot beverage, even in the evenings). For guests looking to enjoy this in the park, a Team Member suggested going down to Starbucks and ordering a grande steamed milk ($2.99) served in a venti cup. We tried it; it fits the bomb with room to prevent overflow.
This was surprisingly good. It’s very rich chocolate that doesn’t take away from the fall-favorite pumpkin spice. It had a few marshmallows inside as well. We highly recommend getting this pumpkin bomb.
Cauldron Hot Cocoa Bomb – $10
As soon as we dropped it in the cup, we could smell chocolate. We thought after the pumpkin spice cocoa bomb that plain chocolate would be boring. However, the chocolate is deliciously rich. This one had marshmallows in it, too. With both cocoa bombs, we recommend stirring very thoroughly.
Our favorite of the two was the pumpkin, as we prefer pumpkin spice beverages for fall. However, you can’t go wrong with either. These are a wonderful warm treat.
