Traditional character meet-and-greets at Walt Disney World have been suspended since March 2020 due to COVID-19. Characters have been appearing outdoors in cavalcades and special distanced appearances, and indoors at select restaurants. Mickey Mouse is now the first character to return to his dedicated indoor meet-and-greet location for a character “sighting.”
Mickey can be found in Town Square Theater at Magic Kingdom.
The sighting opened at 9:00 a.m. and only had a ten-minute wait.
The interior of Mickey’s meet-and-greet area mostly looks the same.
Stanchions with rope are set up to keep guests separated from Mickey.
Mickey is appearing in his EARidescent 50th anniversary outfit. A new 50th anniversary-themed backdrop has also been added behind him, covering his vanity.
Mickey would usually appear on the other side of the room, in front of red curtains, while the PhotoPass photographer would stand in this area.
Each party gets a few minutes to talk to Mickey and take photos.
You can take photos of the mouse and snap selfies with him behind you.
The sighting closed around 9:30 a.m. and Cast Members said Mickey would be back every 20 minutes.
