PHOTOS: Character Meet and Greet Banner Removed and Replaced, Marquee Missing from Town Square Theater in Magic Kingdom

The Town Square Theater is normally home to Mickey Mouse and Tinker Bell meet and greets, however both of these offerings are suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Large banners advertising these offerings typically could be found just outside. Today, those banners were replaced with ones that exclude the character offerings.

The large marquee that usually hangs in the center of the banners is missing as well, we assume to be refurbished.

The new bright red and gold banners hang on both sides of the main entrance to the building. They state “Town Square Theater and Fine Dining & Goods” and advertise the two small merchandise locations and the restaurant that are currently a part of the Town Square Theater.

The Town Square Theater is currently home to a small collection of merchandise offerings at Box Office Gifts and Curtain Call Collectibles. The far left side of the building hosts Tony’s Town Square Restaurant.

While we didn’t expect these meet and greets to return any time soon, the changing of the banners is not reassuring. It may be some time until the characters return to this spot.
