Disney KiteTails is off and flying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We’ve already seen their uplifting take on “The Jungle Book,” so today, we’re looking at the second version of the show themed to “The Lion King!”

As we’ve previously reported, the pre-show is the same for both shows. The “Lion King” version starts with “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” as bird windcatchers and pinwheels of animals are waved on the landing.

This leads into “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” as Zazu and young Simba kites fly around the lagoon.

Ever the (fur)ball of energy, Simba chases Zazu around the Discovery River Amphitheater during the number.

Zazu exits before a kite of Timon and Pumbaa takes off for “Hakuna Matata,” joining Simba, who exits the number early.

A string of kites with bugs (their favorite snack) on them is also part of the number.

The show then launches into “King of Pride Rock” as an adult Simba takes off, rejoined by Zazu for the final chorus of “Circle of Life.”
