On our latest visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we stopped by Dawa Bar to try the new Firefly Margarita, part of the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebrations.

Firefly Margarita – $16

Casamigos Reposado Tequila, Ancho Reyes Liqueur, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Pineapple Juice

The Firefly Margarita delivers. It is incredibly well-balanced, allowing you to enjoy all of the flavors. The Ancho Reyes liqueur is absolutely present and delivers some spice, but the perfect amount so as not to turn this cocktail into a “dare.” Give it a good stir, and both the lime and pineapple can be identified.

All of these flavors work to tone down the tequila, so the drink can work for even those who shy away from margaritas. While this isn’t the classic margarita experience, it’s an excellent take on the drink and a wonderful, dynamic choice for a hot day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This is not a weak drink, and it’s a fair value for the price. We highly recommend this.
