RUMOR: Shrek 4-D to Permanently Close January 2022 at Universal Studios Florida

After nearly nineteen years, the fairytale may be nearly over for Shrek 4-D at Universal Studios Florida.

The attraction is rumored to permanently close in January 2022. No official confirmation or announcement of a replacement has been made as of the writing of this article.

This wouldn’t be the first iteration of the attraction to close. Its sister attraction in Universal Studios Hollywood shut down in 2017 to make way for the Dreamworks Theatre, currently home to the Kung Fu Panda Adventure.

Shrek 4-D opened in 2003, replacing the opening day attraction Alfred Hitchcock: The Art of Making Movies. It features the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and John Lithgow, reprising their roles as Shrek, Donkey, Princess Fiona and Lord Farquaad, respectively.

  1. I think this is a pretty good decision as long as it’s replaced with a bigger/better shrek ride…
