Storybook Treats in Magic Kingdom is celebrating the 50th anniversary with two new ice cream treats inspired by “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
Storybook Treats is located next to The Friar’s Nook in Fantasyland.
In addition to its standard ice cream and float offerings, it now has the Heigh-Ho Sundae and the Snow White Cone.
Snow White Cone – $6.49
DOLE Whip lemon, blue cone, chocolate bird, and sugar bow
This is a new form of lemon DOLE Whip, which has previously been available at Storybook Treats. It’s a refreshing and light snack.
The occasional crunch from the two garnishes is nice and they add a sweetness to the slightly tart lemon.
Though the cone is blue, it is just a basic sugar cone.
It’s a simple snack, but it’s nice on a hot day and makes for a cute picture.
Heigh-Ho Sundae – $6.99
Chocolate soft-serve, hot fudge, graham cracker pieces, chocolate gems, and whipped cream
Unfortunately, this sundae quickly became a melted mess. But even without the melting, it looks nothing like the pictures, which was disappointing.
Aside from the presentation, this is a decent sundae. The chocolate rocks and graham crackers give two different textures, while the hot fudge adds richness and balances the cool ice cream.
This is for chocolate fans as there’s a lot of it. It was a bit too heavy to be eating in the middle of a sunny day.
It only got messier as we continued to eat, but it still tasted good.
We were happy with both of these treats. In the future, we would go for the Snow White cone during the day and the Heigh-Ho Sundae in the evening during fireworks.
