UPDATE: As of July 24, 2024, Genie+ is now known as Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Individual Lightning Lane is known as Lightning Lane Single Pass. This article has been updated to reflect the change.
Disney Genie has launched at Disneyland Resort. This service is designed to help guests plan their day at the theme parks, offering tips and suggestions about what to do next. Guests can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass (formerly Genie+), giving them Lightning Lane access at most attractions. Lightning Lane replaces FastPass as a way to skip the stand-by line.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass
Disney Genie can be set up before visiting Disneyland Resort, but guests cannot purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass (or Lightning Lane Single Pass) until they have entered a park.
To purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, navigate to Disney Genie in the Disneyland App. In addition to Lightning Lane access, Multi Pass also includes unlimited PhotoPass downloads from the day and Audio Tales.
Multi Pass starts at $32 per ticket per day. Prices and availability vary by date. It is non-refundable.
After making the purchase, you will see a confirmation page and receive a confirmation email.
Once you have purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can select the attractions you want Lightning Lane access to. You can only make one selection at a time. We went for Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! first thing.
You can only choose the next available timeframe for Lightning Lane access. Our Mission: BREAKOUT! was valid from 8:05 a.m. to 9:05 a.m. You cannot make a second Lightning Lane selection until you have used the first, the timeframe ends, or 120 minutes have passed (whichever comes first).
So we would not have been able to make another Lightning Lane selection until we rode Mission: BREAKOUT! or until after 9:05 a.m. We made the selection at about 8:00 a.m., so 120 minutes would not pass before the timeframe ended.
We then headed to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
The standby wait was only ten minutes.
After making a Lightning Lane selection, you will be able to bring up this barcode page to show to the Cast Members at the Lightning Lane entrance.
After they scan your barcode, you’re good to go!
