UPDATE: As of July 24, 2024, Genie+ is now known as Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Individual Lightning Lane is known as Lightning Lane Single Pass. This article has been updated to reflect the change.

Disneyland Resort guests can use Disney Genie in the Disneyland app to purchase individual Lightning Lane access to the resort’s most popular, in-demand attractions. Individual Lightning Lane is available as Lightning Lane Single Pass, a separate purchase from Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which grants Lightning Lane access to most attractions at the two parks for a day.

Lightning Lane Single Pass

Guests may only purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass after they enter one of the parks. If they have a Park Hopper, they may at that time purchase Lightning Lane access for rides at both parks. However, you may only make two Lightning Lane Single Pass selections in one day, so you can’t use it to skip the standby line for all three attractions.

We had a Park Pass for Disney California Adventure on December 8, 2021, and purchased access to the Lightning Lane of Radiator Springs Racers for $7. Lightning Lane Single Pass prices vary day to day.

Our time slot was from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. You can only select the next available time slot, instead of searching for a time you want later in the day.

Upon making the Lightning Lane Single Pass purchase, you will see a confirmation page and also receive a confirmation email.

We then headed to Radiator Springs Racers at about 8:15 a.m. Like with FastPass, you can enter the Lightning Lane at any time within the hour timeframe you are given.

In the Disneyland app, you will have a barcode to show Cast Members at the front of the Lightning Lane.

Once they scan your barcode, you can enter the line. We waited about five minutes before boarding the attraction, which was the same wait we observed for single riders. The stand-by wait was 45-50 minutes.

We were then able to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Note that because we would need to Park Hop to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, we were automatically given a Lightning Lane pass that starts at 1:00 p.m., when Park Hopping is permitted.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance was $20 on Wednesday, December 8. No tax is added to these purchases.

As of July 24, 2024, Radiator Springs Racers in Disney California Adventure and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland are the only attractions that need Lightning Lane Single Pass.
