Although Universal Studios Japan guests can already explore the Mushroom Kingdom, over in Hollywood we’re still anxiously awaiting our own version of Super Nintendo World. So let’s take a look at how construction has progressed since our last update.
It seems the purple moisture-resistant sheathing has all been installed and now a layer of light blue paneling is being added to the mountainous structure.
Guests will enter Super Nintendo World next to Transformers: The Ride 3-D and from the escalators we can see the beginnings of an entrance tunnel.
The green hills have been visible for a long time now.
The light blue paneling may be the last layer before the final walls are constructed.
Everything remains surrounded by scaffolding.
It was only a few months ago that we could see straight through the structure.
No blue paneling has been added to the tower yet, but it is almost completely enclosed by the purple sheathing.
Behind the tower, some black and tan tarps cover a blue building.
Super Nintendo World is set to open sometime in 2022 at the earliest, although Universal has been quiet as of late on any specific opening windows. Stay tuned to UPNT as coverage on construction continues.
