The Hogwarts Express at Universal Orlando Resort is closed for the fourth day in a row. Earlier today, Team Members told us that it would be closed until at least this Saturday, possibly longer. We now know it will likely be closed for another full week due to an issue with the attraction’s pull cable.
It may look like a train from where you stand on Platform 9 & 3/4, but the attraction actually functions more like a cable car. The entire pull cable needs to be replaced, so Universal has to wait for parts to arrive and install them. There is no exact reopening date.
The Hogwarts Express is both an attraction and a convenient way to travel between Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure, connecting the two Wizarding World of Harry Potter lands.

Great reporting! Your site is the first I’ve seen on the reason for closing. Thanks for the information.
