Chairman of Disney Parks, Josh D’Amaro, posted the first of what will be many videos directed towards Disney fans on his LinkedIn page yesterday.

In his post, he wrote, “For the past year, I’ve been recording video messages to our Cast, Crew and Imagineers with updates and thoughts about our business. I thought I’d take a shot at broadening the audience and doing something similar for all of you on LinkedIn. Whether you’re a fan of Disney, a Cast Member or a future Cast Member… I hope you enjoy.”

In the video, D’Amaro is at Disney California Adventure Park and talks about how over the past year, he’s created videos for Cast Members giving them updates on The Walt Disney Company. Now, he’ll be posting a series of videos on his LinkedIn page directed towards Disney fans who “just want to keep up with what’s going on at Disney” and potential future Cast Members on “what it’s like to be a Cast Member in Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products.”

In this first video, D’Amaro talks all about current Cast Members. He talks about how they’ve been working on getting Cast Member service celebrations back up and running. In a couple of weeks, Disney will be celebrating the 2021 Cast Member honorees. 29 Cast Members will be celebrating 50 years of service to the company. Next year, D’Amaro will be celebrating 25 years of working for The Walt Disney Company.

D’Amaro also talks about how Disney will be starting up their Legacy program for Cast Members again this year. Cast Members who sport blue name tags are Cast Members who go above and beyond and are part of the Disney Legacy program.

He then talks about Disney Aspire, which provides hourly Cast Members with free college tuition. 20,000 hourly Cast Members have been enrolled in Disney Aspire so far. And more than 2,400 of those Cast Members have received diplomas, completed programs, etc.

  1. I was actually thinking of asking Chapek to do something similar. So that while Josh can communicate with people in public, Chapek can do so on the internet on sites such as YouTube. Maybe yoy cam write a letter to him about that. In fact to everyone who reads this comment try to ask Chapek about this idea with things such as letters and such.

  2. Is it just me or does this guy seem like the most disingenuous person on the planet. I struggle to think if he has an original thought in his head. He reminds me of a snake oil salesman ready to sell me his cure all tonic for backpain, headaches or stomach ulcers. Maybe an injury lawyer asking if I had a bad fall at work. Chapek was horendous in this same role but at least he did something, albeit all bad. Expected a lot more than a puppet that goes out and reads pre-scripted comments telling us that paying for Fastpasses is actually a good thing. So sad

    • Hey thar wasn’t nice. Did you know people want him as the next CEO. Plus he is actually communicating with the people and even hearing what they have to say. As for Chapek I wouldn’t say his decisions are all bad. See he actually have been placed in a difficult position in a difficult time in history and is doing his best to make sure the company makes it through the pandemic. Plus in recent times he is trying to prove that he is innovative.
