Disney Auditioning Aerial Performers for ‘Celebration of Festival of the Lion King,’ Indicating Full Show May Return Soon

Disney is now auditioning dancers with ballet technique who “may perform an aerial routine” for “Celebration of Festival of the Lion King.” The aerial part of the performance has been missing from the modified version of “Festival of the Lion King,” with dancers just performing on the ground during “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?”

This may mean the full show will be returning soon or at least returning in stages. We previously saw auditions posted for performing with trampoline walls, which could have been for the missing tumble monkey act, although trampoline walls were not previously used.

Here are the currently posted role descriptions:

Maji – Female identifying dancer 5’1″ to 5’4″ with excellent ballet technique, strong partnering skills and the ability to perform at heights. This character may perform an aerial routine that involves flying in the air. Due to aerial equipment safety protocol, this role must maintain a weight of 110 lbs. or lower and must be within the 5’1-5’4 height bracket

Moto – Male identifying dancer 5’10” and above, with excellent ballet technique, lift/partnering skills and strong athletic build.
