Tokyo Disney Resort has announced a special version of Splash Mountain coming to the park this year to get guests extra-wet in the miserably humid Tokyo summer!
From July 1 through August 31, Splash Mountain will become Splash Mountain “Get Wet MAX”, where guests will get even more soaked than usual (which isn’t much really) to beat the extremely hot and humid (dare we say worse than Florida) Tokyo summers. Splash Mountain is usually more of a light spritz here because guests traditionally dress up for the parks, so maybe this will be more equivalent to the levels guests see in the United States parks.
No other changes to the attraction will be made. Surprisingly, a return of the extra-wet version of Aquatopia was not announced. This is the second new change to be announced for this year at Tokyo Disneyland, with Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters also getting a special version from April 1 through August 31.
