REVIEW: Frozen Guacamole Shines at Avocado Time at the 2022 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival

The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is in full swing and will be running from March 4 to April 26. Back for another year at the Festival is Avocado Time, where this booth has masterfully prepared the avocado in many forms for our delight, including a wonderful new Frozen Guacamole!

Petite Avocado Impossible Burger – $8.00

While rather tasty, this slider is rather small for the price. It’s also not that inventive – I’ve had guac on a burger many times. There are many other great dishes at the festival we’d recommend, but if you just have to eat a burger, you could do worse we suppose.

This slider is still just as tasty as last year but too small for the price. The concept of guac on a burger is not particularly inventive, so we were bummed to see this on the menu again.

However, if you find yourself craving a burger during the Festival, this one still gets the job done.

The Frozen Guacamole is a bit odd. We can’t quite put our finger on what we like about it.

It’s creamy, a little sweet, and the pico de gallo brings in a savory aspect from the onions and tomato.

Reading the description on the menu, we didn’t expect it to work. But, somehow, we ate all of it.

It’s a delicious puzzle that we kept coming back to, trying to unravel its mysteries until it was gone. The Frozen Guacamole is a one-of-a-kind flavor that is worth a try.

*NEW* Ruby Grapefruit Sparkling Beverage – $5.00

The Ruby Grapefruit Sparkling Beverage is a sweet fruit drink almost reminiscent of watered-down Kool-Aid. None of the flavors come to the fore. It’s just sweet.

The raspberry garnish and the pink color trick the mind into thinking there may be some red fruit flavor. But it just tastes sweet and vaguely fruity. It’s hard to parse the grapefruit aspect of this drink outside of the occasional bitter taste.

Overall, this is not one of the better drinks at the Festival, and there are much better non-alcoholic options out there.

Did you think it was time for avocados, or is it more of an avocad-no for you? Let us know in the comments.
