runDisney Website Crashes, 2023 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Registration Delayed

Guests have not been able to register for the 2023 runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend this morning as the runDisney website has crashed.

The queue for registration opened by 9:45 a.m. ET, with registration scheduled to open at 10:00 a.m. However, guests remain stuck in the queue unable to register well past 10 as the main runDisney website has crashed. The website is currently blank or has a “temporarily unavailable” message when accessed. Guests who entered the queue before the crash remain in line and can see their queue ID.

At 10:23 a.m., runDisney posted on Facebook, “We are working on runDisney.com and appreciate your patience as we correct the issues. We will provide an update when available.”

Some guests reported seeing a page stating registration will open at 11:00 a.m. ET. but it did not.

At 10:37 a.m., runDisney updated the queue page with a message reading, “We are working on runDisney.com and appreciate your patience as we correct the issues. We will provide an update when available. Please remain in queue.” The message was “updated” at 11:00 a.m. but states the same thing.

  1. Thank for nothing, had waited over 2 hours, went to a meeting and was kicked out. By the time I got back in sold out as I was registering. Would have had plenty of time if not for your poorly executed signup.

  2. Hi I waited over 4 hours to sign up for the marathon and never had a chance to sign myself and my niece up. Please let me know what can be done about this.

Thank you and I look forward to your response

  3. Total disappointment. Logged in on time, website was down and by the time it got up and running I was waiting online for 3 hours as the registration loaded, only to see every race was SOLD OUT. What the heck? What kind of crazy registration platform game are you playing over there at runDisney.com? From the looks of it, no is in charge or running Disney. A race I had been planning to run for two years is sold out in under 2 hours … for a marathon? Really? Even when someone plays by all of the rules, you still can’t catch a break. Thanks for a lot of sadness and disappointment. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

  4. My family has been planning on doing the dopey challenge since 2018 when we ran the marathon together. I had clocked out at work to register. After 30 minutes I had to go back to work. My husband did his best to get me registered, but no luck. He was able to get me into the marathon. I’m so heart broken that after 5 years of looking forward to this that I’m not able to do it!

  5. Logged on early at 9:50am to sign up for the marathon. Waited for hours only to finally connect, get to payment and be told it is sold out. Not cool. Then I learned that people who signed in after me were able to get through and sign up for multiple races. Disappointed. Expected more from Disney.

  6. Like many others, I have trained for the 2023 marathon for a long time, beginning the summer of 2021, with my two sons and their wife and girlfriend. Ten years ago while participating in the event (January 13, 2013) and celebrating my father’s 88th birthday (January 11, 2013) at Disney World, my father passed away the day after the event (January 14, 2013). We were planning on participating again this year. Room reservations have already been made, however, due to no fault of mine, we were blocked from being able to register. We would really like to be able to participate in the event. What can be done?

  7. I was very angry with how Disney registration system completely failed, I was so excited and awaiting the day to register, but was completely knocked out of line because of this system. Was excited to take family for these runs. My son is 12 and he dies 5.24 mintue mile and he was so excited to show his talent. Also a whole week for you club disneyrun doesn’t seen fair. Hope it goes better next year.

  8. I waited for over four hours it said do not refresh my page I followed instructions when I was signing up and went to pay it told me was sold out. I’ve been doing Disney races since 1996 I am a DCV member. Some type of loyalty has to come through
