We flew over to Smokejumpers Grill in Disney California Adventure to review three new Pilot Classics selections: the Double Impossible Cheeseburger, Chipotle BBQ Bacon Double Cheeseburger, and Spicy Chicken Sandwich.

Smokejumpers Grill is located at Grizzly Peak Airfield in Disney California Adventure.

Double Impossible Cheeseburger – $14.49

Two Plant-based Patties, Dairy-free Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Grilled Onion, and Plant-based Sauce, served with Crinkle Cut-Fries or Cuties® Mandarin Oranges

The Double Impossible Cheeseburger is made without animal meat, dairy, eggs, or honey. It is served with crinkle-cut fries or Cuties oranges, but we opted for the fries. Smokejumpers Grill has done away with the old waffle-cut fries in exchange for the crinkle variety.

We found the bottom bun soggy, drenched in the vegan aioli sauce. Although the bun was soggy, the patties were dry and tasted like vitamins.

We could not wash out the taste of this burger fast enough. Needless to say, this Impossible Cheeseburger was impossible to get through. There are plenty of other plant-based options at the parks these days, like the Impossible BBQ Burger at Paradise Garden Grill, so don’t put yourself through this.

Chipotle BBQ Bacon Double Cheeseburger – $15.49

Two Angus Beef Patties, Smoked Provolone, Bacon, Lettuce, Onion Rings, and Chipotle BBQ Sauce served with Crinkle-cut Fries or Onion Rings

This cheeseburger came topped with crispy bacon and crunchy onion rings.

We found the taste of the burger patties to be fairly standard.

The two slices of cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon, and onion rings, made up for the mediocre beef. Overall, we found this large burger to be very tasty.

Spicy Chicken Sandwich – $13.29

Hand-breaded Chicken, spicy Chipotle Sauce, Lettuce, and Pickles served with Crinkle-cut Fries or Onion Rings

Of the three Pilot Classics we ordered, this was our favorite.

The chicken was juicy with delicious flavoring. The spicy mayonnaise-based Chipotle sauce really stood out.

The bun was fairly lackluster. But the excellent, spicy fried chicken more than makes up for it.
