CDC To End COVID-19 Testing Requirement for International Visitors

According to CNN, the Biden administration will announce today that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will lift its requirement for travelers to test negative for COVID-19 before entering the U.S.A. Without this requirement, we will likely see more international visitors at the Disney and Universal parks.

The requirement would be officially lifted at midnight on Sunday. The restriction has been in effect since January 2021.

A senior administration official told CNN that the CDC has determined the restriction is no longer necessary “based on the science and data.”

The CDC will reassess the decision in 90 days and could reinstate it if there are concerns like a new variant.

Officials in the travel industry have been urging the administration and the CDC to end testing requirements for months, saying it is negatively affecting the economy.
