Grilled Kebabs with Carrot-Chickpea Salad and Garlic Aïoli (Chermoula Chicken, Moroccan-Spiced Lamb) – $5.75

The lamb has quite a kick to it. It’s a tender and well-cooked, hearty kebab.

This is thigh meat chicken, nicely seasoned. The salad is raisin, chickpea, and shredded carrots, topped with garlic aioli. The chicken is nicely cooked. Seasoned perfectly, but not hot. The slaw is the perfect complement with its sweetness.

Fried Falafel Pita with Tahini Sauce – $5.25

The pita isn’t particularly stable enough to pick up and eat, so we’d recommend grabbing a fork for this one. Otherwise, the falafel is not too dry and has a nice spiced flavor. It comes in a well-sized portion and makes a decent choice.

Stone-baked Moroccan Bread with Hummus, Chermoula, and Zhoug Dips – $5.00

This was the big winner! It’s a tender, doughy bread with three very nice accompaniments. The hummus, while simple, was restaurant-quality at least. The zhoug is a spicy sauce with cilantro, hot peppers, and garlic. It wasn’t hot, but it was heavy on garlic and cilantro flavors, though it needed more pepper. Still, we found it to be very enjoyable.

Pistachio Cake with Cinnamon Pastry Cream and Candied Walnuts – $4.75

This was a delicious, moist cake with sweet cinnamon pastry cream. It comes in a nice portion size but is lighter than it looks. It’s a perfect cake for a hot summer day.

3 Daughters Brewing Fig Hard Cider, St. Petersburg, FL (5.5% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.

From correspondence with 3 Daughters Brewing: “Tender, fresh figs with honey-like sweetness create this delicious fall cider. Complemented with hints of ripe berry, this brew may remind you of a certain type of cookie.”

Bold Rock Ginger Turmeric Hard Cider, Nellysford, VA (4.7% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.

From Bold Rock Hard Cider: “Ginger Turmeric is an herbal tea inspired cider made with locally grown Blue Ridge Mountain apples paired with the distinctive spice of ginger root and aromatic earthiness of turmeric.”

Stem Ciders Hibiscus Session Hard Apple Cider, Lafayette, CO (4.3% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.

From Stem Ciders: “Floral and not too sweet, our tart Hibiscus tea blend is refreshing and perfect for year-round sipping. Try it over ice, it’s nice!”

Fig Cocktail with White Cranberry Juice and Fig Vodka – $11.00

There’s probably not a lot of alcohol in this one, but it was really well-balanced. It’s not syrupy like other festival drinks, which was nice. It’s quite refreshing and takes a pretty picture for the budding food photographers out there. We highly recommend this one.
