Guest Climbs In Fountain, Poses as Decoration at Tokyo DisneySea

While guests at the Tokyo Disney Resort are largely known for ardently following the rules and causing little trouble, it seems even the Japan resort isn’t immune to the recent trend of guests going out-of-bounds for social media clout.

In a Tweet posted by @DisneySea20, we see the guest, male likely in his teens or 20s, attempting to pose among the ceramic tigers in Arabian Coast’s central fountain at Tokyo DisneySea.

The guest in question was quickly reprimanded by a Cast Member and asked to leave without incident.

Incidents like this are rare compared to domestic or European theme parks, although they’ve been on the rise since the COVID-19 pandemic. Complaints often arise on social media regarding guests at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea blocking pathways to perform TikTok dances. A recent trend of super-fans at the parks camping out at The Happy Ride with Baymax for hours on end to dance at guests riding has also drawn scrutiny online and from guests in the park for making regular day guests uncomfortable.

  1. Hello, Mr. Spencer.

I feel that this article lacks compassion for a specific guest at Disney. Some Japanese guests do not want to make this issue exaggerate to the world since you write this in English. They are worried whether the fountain might be removed because this article makes the problem even worse. Posting an English article here means conveying information all over the world. I would like you to choose a topic carefully if you post an article about a specific guest.

    Thank you.
