Ahead of its official August 25 reopening, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is currently undergoing a soft reopening at the Magic Kingdom. Join us today for a look at the reopening and give you a full walkthrough of “The Carriage Package!”
This upcharge experience, which offers styling experiences for children, closed with the rest of the park in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the moment, only walk-ins are allowed.
A Cast Member was tending to the line of guests, with laminated previews of the packages available for purchase. Three different packages are being offered for princesses, ranging from $99.95 for The Carriage Package to $229.00 for The Deluxe Castle Package.
For knights, the basic package, which includes hairstyling with gel and a sword and shield, costs $19.95 plus tax, while the deluxe package with a costume sells for $79.95.
One change that has come with the reopening is that Cast Members at the boutique are now referred to as Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices, a more gender-neutral term than the previous Fairy Godmothers in Training.
Let’s take a look at the packages available for purchase:
The Carriage Package — $99.95
The Carriage Package includes your choice of hairstyle, shimmer makeup, a face gem, nail polish, a royal sash, a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique cinch bag, and a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique t-shirt.
The Castle Package — $199.95
The Castle Package includes your choice of hairstyle, shimmer makeup, a face gem, nail polish, a royal sash, a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique cinch bag, a Disney princess necklace, your choice of Disney princess gown, and a Disney princess crown and wand!
The Deluxe Castle Package — $229.95
The Deluxe Castle Package includes your choice of hairstyle, shimmer makeup, a face gem, nail polish, a royal sash, a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique cinch bag, a Disney princess necklace, your choice of “deluxe” Disney princess gown, and a “deluxe” Disney princess accessory set.
The Knight Package — $19.95
The Knight Package includes hair gel and colorful confetti, plus a sword and shield.
The Deluxe Knight Package — $79.95
The Deluxe Knight Package includes a deluxe costume, hair gel, colorful confetti, plus a sword and shield.
There are no discounts of any kind available. This includes Annual Pass, Disney Vacation Club, and even Cast Member discounts. Guests can theoretically buy a princess dress outside of the boutique and then bring that dress into the boutique to get their discount.

After checking in, we were told to stay in the waiting area, and we were given an expectation of waiting 20-30 minutes.
The interior of the boutique waiting area has refreshed wallpaper featuring characters from Cinderella! We spotted Jaq and Gus, Lucifer, Cinderella’s pumpkin (pre-carriage), and more.
When you are finally called by a Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice, you go inside this boutique. If you choose a package that includes a dress, this is when you will choose your dress, and the child can go into the changing room.
The changing room has a large mirror that previously had a video interaction with the Fairy Godmother saying “Bibbidi, Bobbidi, Boo!” but unfortunately, that wasn’t functional today. A Cast Member assured us that for the official opening day, she would be back.
We opted for “The Carriage Package” today, which came with a pink shirt that features a tiara and says “Best Day Ever” across the front — we also decided to add a matching pink skirt for $34.99.
This is Leilani! She is the daughter of one of our WDWNT team members who was lucky enough to get made over today.
This is when the Cast Member will give you options of different hairstyles to choose from. In our experience, they directed these questions directly to Leilani, making sure she was getting exactly what she wanted and was completely comfortable.
Here’s a look at a few of the different hairstyle options.
After your child is changed and has picked out a hairstyle, you are brought to the “royal register” to pay for your selections.
Then you’re finally escorted over to Cinderella Castle for the makeover!
Once you are inside the castle, the lucky child sits down in a chair, and the details of the makeover are discussed.
There is a seating area where parents can wait while the makeover happens.
While the makeover is happening, Disney PhotoPass photographers will come and take photos.
After hair and nails were complete, Leilani was “pixie dusted.”
At the end of the makeover, the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice will announce the child to the room— in our case, “Princess Leilani!”
After, we were escorted to Sir Mickey’s so that Leilani could have a photoshoot that lasted about ten minutes.
They included this pink bag and filled it with some parting goodies: a makeup palette, nail polish, face gem sticker, makeup remover towelettes, shampoo, and the hairbrush that they used for us.
Here is the finished product. How beautiful is Leilani?!
In summary, we appreciated how kind the Cast Members were to us and how focused they were on providing Leilani with a happy and comfortable experience.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is clearly a pricey experience, but if you are visiting Walt Disney World on vacation with kids (and maybe celebrating a birthday), we definitely recommend it! The Boutique officially reopens on August 25, and reservations are highly recommended due to its popularity.

I legitimately can only hope I can go for the works for my future daughter to put that big of a smile on her face. I’ll be best dad ever, and she’ll be a superstar.
Very nice. Thank you for sharing the details of this experience. I’ve never been in that place before (my kiddo is older now and we never did it on any of her earlier trips. Maybe I’ll take grandkids there some day). BTW in this case, the word “palette” should be used (not pallet, which is the form for what loads of goods are stocked on warehouse-style)…so it’s palette, like a painter’s palette. It’s also on the packaging for the cosmetics palette in the goody bag. Great report.
