Construction Moving Slowly For Downtown Disney District Reimagining

While demolition was completed and the land was cleared four months ago, we haven’t seen significant construction at Downtown Disney District yet. The district’s west side is being completely reimagined.

Several construction vehicles are parked at the site, behind construction walls. One section is roped off with orange tape.

A tank from earthwork company Southern California Grading is at the back of the site.

The reimagining will “introduce more innovative shopping, dining and entertainment experiences.”

It will draw inspiration from Southern California mid-century modern architecture and include an open lawn for relaxing and events.

Downtown Disney District will also have a new logo inspired by the Walt Disney Imagineering logo.

  1. Just an unhappy Disney fan here. Why on earth are they changing things at Downtown Disney? I will miss the nostalgic ambiance that was the original DD Anaheim. Mr. Disney would be so disappointed that you are going ‘modern’, and so are we. Being a California resident, my family would visit there often, but too much has changed and it has no character AT ALL!

Disney execs, please stop this modernized version of a once memorable, family themed place that felt like home to all of us.
