REVIEW: The Harvest Festival Series Featuring Fall Flavors Debuts for September at Salt & Straw in Disney Springs

Gideon’s Bakehouse isn’t the only Disney Springs restaurant with monthly exclusives. Salt & Straw has limited edition flavors each month, and September is The Harvest Festival Series.

A single scoop at Salt & Straw is $6.95.

Beecher’s Flagship Cheese w/ Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls

Apple pie filling baked into ooey gooey cinnamon rolls are crumbled throughout a sweet and creamy Beecher’s Flagship Cheese ice cream

BEECHERS FLAGSHIP CHEESE W APPLE PIE CINNAMON ROLL 7998

Even though the ice cream is cheese-based, it is sweet and creamy.

BEECHERS FLAGSHIP CHEESE W APPLE PIE CINNAMON ROLL 7994

It’s not overly sweet, but that’s where the apple pie cinnamon roll comes in. It’s in every scoop and adds a sweet hit to the cheese ice cream.

BEECHERS FLAGSHIP CHEESE W APPLE PIE CINNAMON ROLL 7997

The crumbles are chewy and not crunchy. This is one of the better flavors we’ve had at Salt & Straw.

BEECHERS FLAGSHIP CHEESE W APPLE PIE CINNAMON ROLL 8006

We give this a 9/10.

Spiced Goat Cheese Pumpkin Pie

Creamy goat cheese ice cream spike with housemade pumpkin spice envelopes swirls of decadent pumpkin pie filling

SPICED GOAT CHEESE PUMPKIN PIE 8008

Hello, Fall! You can smell the pumpkin pie spice as soon as they hand you this scoop of ice cream. It’s an overwhelming flavor but in a good way.

SPICED GOAT CHEESE PUMPKIN PIE 8010

Pumpkin spice is the first flavor you taste with the goat cheese ice cream coming in as an aftertaste. The goat cheese ice cream is creamy and sweet.

SPICED GOAT CHEESE PUMPKIN PIE 8012

This scoop would be perfect for thanksgiving.

SPICED GOAT CHEESE PUMPKIN PIE 8019

We give this an 8/10.

Pinot Poached Pear Sherbert

Pears soaked in cinnamon and star anise-infused Pinot Noir, then churned into a spiced sherbet and folded with the classic Double Fold Vanilla ice cream for 50/50 flavor

PINOT POACHED PEAR SHERBERT 8022

The vanilla ice cream is overpowering. It masks the other flavors. You get very subtle hints of the other flavors but just barely.

PINOT POACHED PEAR SHERBERT 8020

We don’t taste any cinnamon, pears, or Pinot Noir. It’s mostly vanilla ice cream.

PINOT POACHED PEAR SHERBERT 8023
PINOT POACHED PEAR SHERBERT 8030

Their vanilla ice cream is delicious but we would have loved to be able to taste the pears, cinnamon, and Pinot.

PINOT POACHED PEAR SHERBERT 8029

We give this 5/10.

Caramel Apple Sherbert

Vanilla-infused caramel ribbons are doused throughout a crisp, simple apple juice sherbet

CARAMEL APPLE SHERBERT 8037

This one is basically apple juice in ice cream form. It’s a bit sour and a bit sweet.

CARAMEL APPLE SHERBERT 8032

The caramel ribbons are delicious and cut through the sourness of the apple juice sherbet. But we need more caramel ribbons.

CARAMEL APPLE SHERBERT 8036

If there was more caramel this would have been closer to a caramel apple.

CARAMEL APPLE SHERBERT 8044

We give this a 4/10.

Plum & Chocolate Hazelnut Shortbread (vegan)

Chocolate speckled hazelnut shortbread crumbles, and gobs of plum marmalade are swirled throughout a coconut cream ice cream

PLUM CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT SHORTBREAD 8046

Plum is the main flavor of this. We are not getting any chocolate.

PLUM CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT SHORTBREAD 8047

In our scoop, we got a decent amount of plum marmalade and no shortbread crumbles.

PLUM CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT SHORTBREAD 8048

It’s tart, not sweet. This reminds us of the mixed berry Danimals smoothie. So if you love that nostalgia from elementary school, this vegan option is for you.

PLUM CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT SHORTBREAD 8049
PLUM CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT SHORTBREAD 8055

We give this a 6/10.
