REVIEW: Figment Sponge Cake Flies Into EPCOT For 40th Anniversary

After closing for two days due to Hurricane Ian, EPCOT has reopened just in time for its 40th anniversary tomorrow, October 1, 2022. Special treats are available throughout the park, including a Figment sponge cake with honey-lime mousse.

Figment Sponge Cake – $6.49

This is a moist sponge cake with no discernible flavor. It’s not dry at all.

The honey-lime filling is tangy, refreshing, and plentiful. It’s delicious.

The wings on top are made of white confectioner’s sugar. They aren’t crunchy — they melt in your mouth.

The purple frosting has a weird chemical taste. We don’t recommend eating that part.

It’s larger than it looks and is a good size for sharing. We’ll be back for this again.

The Figment Sponge Cake will be available at Sunshine Seasons through October 3.

Everything’s coming up Figment right now, with a Figment movie in the works, meet-and-greet returning next year, and 40th anniversary plush coming soon.

  1. Looks good just can’t get the disappointing taste of colored icing. It is always so chemical I think the taste is the artificial coloring. Glad you suggested avoiding the icing.
