We’ve been making our rounds at Disneyland trying new fall and Halloween-themed treats, and now we stopped to try this Octoberfest-inspired Burger at Galactic Grill in Disneyland Park.
It’s worth noting that Disney spells it as “Octoberfest” rather than “Oktoberfest” on the menu. The Blood Orange Slush and Darth by Chocolate have also returned for the Halloween season.
Octoberfest-Inspired Burger — $15.49
Angus beef patty, bratwurst, grilled peppers and onions, sauerkraut and house-made mustard cheese on a pretzel bun with choice of Greek yogurt or French fries
This burger is fantastic! It’s loaded with lots of different flavors that are individually great, but also work well together.
The burger patty itself leaves much to be desired; it’s just an average frozen burger patty. But the crumbled bratwurst on top, the grilled onions and peppers and the sauerkraut bring a distinctive Oktoberfest flair to the otherwise mundane burger.
Then with the addition of the mustard cheese sauce, it elevates this dish to being exceptional. While each of the ingredients, except for the burger patty, are delicious on their own, they all work together very well and make for a fantastic dining experience. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this burger and will definitely be revisiting again soon.
Blood Orange Slush – $12.19
Blood Orange Slush with a swirl of Raspberry Sauce and a Glow Cube
This slush has seen a significant price increase from 2019 when it was $7.59. It certainly does look spooky and very blood orange. A for effort on the blood effect. This is extra fun too because it comes with a glow cube.
Overall, this is another sugary Disney slush, but one of the more palatable ones. We’d definitely order this again in the middle of a hot day. It tastes like blood orange with a lemon-lime aftertaste. It’s refreshing, but could use a little less sweetness.
Darth by Chocolate Parfait – $6.99
Layers of Chocolate Pudding, Red Velvet Sponge, Chocolate Mousse, and Crushed Chocolate Creme-filled Cookies
This might be one of the best desserts we’ve had. Not only is a Darth Vader-themed parfait a perfect play for Halloween; it truly is death by chocolate.
Layers of red velvet on the bottom pair perfectly with rich chocolate mousse and Oreo crumbles. The top hard layer of chocolate ganache adds some protection, so you can carry this guy all the way to Batuu for some fun photo ops.
Be sure to scoop all the way up from the bottom to enjoy each layer. All we can say is we had a few kids tasting this and the dessert was gone in about 30 seconds flat. Grab this immediately on your next trip.
