San Francisco Pastry Company located at Universal Studios Florida is a great place to grab a quick sandwich or a tasty treat. They’ve gotten into the Halloween spirit and added five new sweets to the menu for the season. The San Francisco Pastry Company is open every day and is open until 11p.m. during Halloween Horror Nights. Just like TODAY Cafe, these snacks are available even if you aren’t going to the event. Let’s take a look at what’s here and dig in.
Chucky Killer Cake Pop – $5.99
This Good Guys inspired cake pop already gives us the creeps. The blood-splattered cake pop is coated with red sprinkles on the back, which give it a nice crunch when you bite in.
We were extremely surprised by the cake inside. The cake had a brown sugar flavor that was very unique. It wasn’t your typical Fall pumpkin flavor, but it is perfect for the season. The spiced cake had the perfect texture and the exterior isn’t too sweet. It’s well balanced and we would highly recommend it.
Spirit Board Blackberry Cheesecake – $5.99
The beauty of this cheesecake will lure you in, but looks can be deceiving. The cheesecake wasn’t that great but the blackberry flavor was very strong.
There wasn’t too much flavor to the actual cheesecake and the crust was extremely bland and dry. The only redeeming thing about this was the decorative chocolate topper.
The spirits say “No” and “Good bye” to this treat.
Jack-o’-Lantern Pumpkin Spice Mousse – $5.99
It might not be Lil’ Boo, but it’s so darn cute! This little Jack-o’-Lantern Pumpkin Spice Mousse Cake is fantastic. If you’re a fan of pumpkin, this is a must.
The creamy texture will keep you going back for more. The pumpkin taste isn’t too overpowering or strong, but you will get the Halloween vibes you are looking for. If you like pumpkin pie, give this mousse a try!
Witch’s Cauldron Brownie – $4.99
It’s giving old school Cauldron Cake vibes. If you remember the original Cauldron Cakes from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, this may give you nostalgia, but it will greatly disappoint after.
They really should have brought the vegan brownies back. The brownie felt really hard and solid. It was almost like it was still frozen. The frosting looks sweet, but tastes more buttery than sugary. The crunchy eye candy and sprinkles were about the only thing we liked here. Avoid this one like you would the current Cauldron Cakes.
Petite Cookies and Scream Cake – $5.49
The cakes that look the most generic are often the best. This one was another favorite of the San Francisco line up. There was a cupcake in the 2020 HHN Tribute Store and a Bride cake for HHN 30 that both seemed to have come together for this cake.
The cake layers are almost like a chocolate chip muffin consistency. The cake is delicious. We honestly couldn’t figure out what the middle layers of frosting were. They weren’t chocolate, but maybe something like a cookie dough flavor. We tried asking the Team Members, but they didn’t know the flavor, either.
There’s a very thick layer of chocolate ganache and cookie crumbles on the top with white chocolate bones. The cake is the star of the show here, though. This is another winner in our book.
These desserts are all unique to San Francisco Pastry Company and a majority of these treats were memorable for us, so if you’re visiting Universal Studios Florida for the Halloween season, we recommend giving some of these a try. For more sweet treats, check out the goodies in the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store, too!
