We’re finally seeing significant work on Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The project was announced in 2019 and unfortunately delayed by COVID. Back in April of this year, we briefly started to see signs of construction before another long pause, but now it seems construction crews are back in the saddle.
Behind the scaffolding that went up last month, green sheathing is now visible. This sheathing protects against moisture and mold.
We saw a few crew members working on the scaffolding today.
The steel just behind the construction walls is shaping a porte-cochère entrance to the restaurant.
Corrugated paneling is on the roof of the porte-cochère.
We could also see some black sheathing on the building.
In the concept art below, we can see how the façade will resemble a cardboard box with toy sets and props.
Earlier this week, we got a first look at table setting concepts for Roundup Rodeo BBQ.

The black sheathing we are seeing may be on the rooftop side of the parapet wall…may have some special waterproofing/fire resistant properties to it. Probably a membrane flat roof that is then carried up the roof side of the parapet wall. This parapet wall will keep HVAC equipment and vents that are rooftop out of view.
