Tokyo Disney Resort Finally Removes Temperature Checks Before Park Entry

As Japan continues to slowly remove its COVID-19 restrictions, Tokyo Disney Resort has taken the next step by removing their temperature checks before entering the park as of Friday, October 8.

An Oriental Land Company PR representative confirmed to WDWNT that due to changes in the East & West Japan Amusement Association guidelines which handle COVID-19 restrictions on October 7, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea abolished their temperature checks at park entrances starting October 9.

Tokyo Disney Resort (and Japan as a whole) has been slow to roll back COVID-19 restrictions, with physical distancing removed in April and limited mask removal allowed outdoors from September 1. Guests can now also high-five characters at greetings (but not roaming characters outdoors) and ask for their autographs, but must otherwise remain distanced by two meters. But with the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare officially announcing on Twitter this week that masks can be removed at all times outdoors, it’s possible more easing could be on the way this week.
