If candy canes are your favorite Christmas treat, make a stop at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Two new treats are on the menu — a Peppermint Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae and Candy Cane Hot Cocoa.

Peppermint Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae – $8.29

Despite melting before they even hand it to you due to the hot fudge, this is a really nice sundae. The brownie is dense and rich, and complements the peppermint ice cream perfectly.

The hot fudge puts a new layer of rich chocolate on top, topped with peppermint stick crumbles to add some crunch.

If you like mint and chocolate together, this is a great treat.

Candy Cane Hot Cocoa – $7.99

We couldn’t find the hot cocoa in this. The drink is a scoop of peppermint ice cream and hot cocoa, but the cocoa all seemed to sink to the bottom so most of what we got was melty peppermint ice cream.  It’s a decent concept but poor execution.

If you want a chocolate mint fix, get the sundae. If you want hot cocoa, just grab the free cocoa at the party. This doesn’t do either particularly well and isn’t worth the expense.

These minty-sweet treats are available exclusively during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a separately ticketed event taking place on select nights from November 8 through December 22.
