REVIEW: Funnel Cake Sundae, Sandy Claws Peppermint Mousse, and More From Sleepy Hollow During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom

Sleepy Hollow is rolling out the treats exclusively for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Story at Magic Kingdom. A Funnel Cake Sundae and Sandy Claws Peppermint Mousse Treat join the returning Apple Cider Float.

Funnel Cake Sundae – $8.49

Peppermint ice cream, M&M’S chocolate candies, and hot fudge served on funnel cake

Sleepy Hollow is known for great funnel cake, but this didn’t meet our expectations. The funnel cake was fine, but it left us wanting even after all the toppings.

It wasn’t particularly creative. Disney really overdid the peppermint and chocolate in the treats this year (though, if you aren’t attempting to try every item in one night, you may not mind).

Sandy Claws Peppermint Mousse Treat – $7.99

White chocolate peppermint mousse with a chocolate fudge center, chocolate Santa hat, and Jack Skellington face

This is a really nice treat. The flavors are richer and more subtle than the other treats on offer. The peppermint mousse is almost buttery in texture and blends with the chocolate fudge center for a smooth mix of flavors. This is a great take on chocolate and mint, unlike the funnel cake above, and one of our favorites from the party.

Apple Cider Float – $5.99

Apple cider topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and sprinkled with cinnamon

This didn’t work, even for the apple cider fans in our party. The concept is great, but the vanilla and apple flavors don’t mesh well. In any case, it’s something simple you could easily make at home. We recommend passing on this. If you must have apple cider, stop by The Lunching Pad, where they’re giving it away for free.

All three treats are available exclusively during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a separately ticketed event taking place on select nights from November 8 through December 22.
