Disneyland Resort Magic Key Pass Sales to Resume ‘From Time to Time’

Disneyland Resort has confirmed they will reopen sales for Magic Key Passes “from time to time” in 2023.

“We’ve been thrilled to see the incredible ongoing demand for our Magic Key program, which provides reservation-based admission to one or both Disneyland Resort theme parks throughout the year – not to mention the chance to unlock the magic visit after visit! Disneyland Resort will make select Magic Key passes available for new sales from time to time throughout 2023 as pass inventory becomes available. Continue to check Disneyland.com/MagicKey for pass on sale dates and availability,” Disney said in an announcement Tuesday afternoon.

Currently, no Magic Key Passes are on sale. The process isn’t spelled out in the statement, so it’s unclear if it will be announced ahead of time like in previous sales windows.

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Collectible Print Now Available at Disneyland for a Limited Time

Last February, Disneyland Resort celebrated Magic Key Holder Month. While no announcements have been made at this time about a return, Key Holders can pick up a complimentary Disney100 art print.

Magic Key Program

Disneyland Resort introduced the Magic Key program as a replacement for Annual Passes. Sales began in August 2021 with four pass tiers. The highest tier, the Dream Key, sold out in October 2021, followed quickly by the Believe Key.

In December 2021, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Disney, alleging that Disney falsely advertised their highest tier Dream Key as having “no blockout dates” despite the very limited bucket of reservations available for Key holders.

Despite opposition from Disney’s legal team, a federal judge ruled that the lawsuit could move forward on May 13, 2022. On May 31, sales of all Magic Keys were suspended.

When renewals began in August, changes had been made to the program. The Dream Key was permanently discontinued, and a new Imagine Key was introduced. Notably, all four tiers now had blockout dates. Additionally, a clause was added to the terms and conditions requiring the Key Holder to waive the right to file a class action lawsuit upon agreement.

Pass sales were opened to all guests for about a day in November 2022 before being paused again, and have yet to resume.
