Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be closed beginning on January 9, 2023, for its annual extended refurbishment. We now know the ride is scheduled to reopen in March 2023.

Kali River Rapids is scheduled to be closed through March 16, 2023, reopening to guests on March 17.

Animal Kingdom’s popular water ride attraction is located in Asia and sends up to twelve guests per ride vehicle careening through a whitewater adventure set in a lush jungle in the heart of Asia. As guests travel through the raging current, waterfalls and a 20-foot plummet make this the most soak-inducing ride outside of Walt Disney World’s water parks.

The ride typically closes for the season between January and April of each year. Kali River Rapids was closed for an extended refurbishment at the end of 2021. Originally set to reopen in December 2021, the ride was reopened to guests on January 4th of this year. Its potential reopening date for this latest refurbishment has not yet been disclosed.
