Walt Disney World released a trio of treats inspired by the latest line of Munchlings, including a Whoopie Pie representing the Spiced Carrot Cake Thumper plush. However, if you’re thinking this snack looks familiar, you’d be right.
The Angel Açai Bowl from Disney’s Blizzard Beach bore a close resemblance to its plush namesake, while the Almond Vanilla Sweet Corn Cake was at least an approximation of the Elote Donald plush.
However, this one is quite a stretch, appearance-wise, and is actually the Carrot Cake Cookie. It’s available in its usual location at the Trolley Car Café. The plush is available from the Garden Goodness mystery boxes.
Carrot Cake Thumper Munchling-Inspired Whoopie Pie – $4.99
It’s renamed on the temporary sign alone, with even the label on the package still reading “Carrot Cake Cookie.”
Although it’s based on a spiced carrot cake Munchling, there isn’t any spice. It’s very sweet, just like you would imagine, but also very moist.
The carrot cake is so moist that it actually ends up being sticky, so when you pick it up, the top layer of the cake will get stuck to your fingers.
Since the carrot cake is refrigerated and the icing is pretty cold, you may want to let it sit and soften for a few minutes.
It didn’t have the overwhelming cream cheese feeling that carrot cakes usually have, which we would have preferred. It’s a large serving, big enough to share.
It’s neither here nor there; we would get it again if the mood struck but wouldn’t otherwise go out of our way. It’s not limited time like the other treats, either; it’s just a renamed baked good that bears little resemblance to the Spiced Carrot Cake Thumper Munchling.
